Formed in 1994, the mandate of the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors - CASI - is to train and certify snowboard instructors and to ensure that a national standard of safe and efficient snowboard instruction is maintained. CASI offers four levels of Instructor certification, and additional certification in Park Instruction.
To become a member of CASI you must first attend and pass the Level 1 Instructor certification course. This course is an entry level program designed to teach instructors how to introduce snowboarding to beginners and novice riders.
One must successfully complete their CASI Level 1 Instructor’s course before proceeding to attempt the Level 2 Instructor or Park Instructor 1 course.
The CASI Ontario office operates under the National office and is responsible for organizing and administering the Level One Instructor and Park Instructor 1, courses throughout Ontario. The Regional Coordinator for Ontario is Doug Mooder.
If you are interested in the Level 1 or Park Instructor 1 course outside Ontario, click here for a list of the regional coordinators for the rest of Canada – or when you click on the link to register, simply select the province you want for their schedule of courses.
